What they don't teach you about money
7 habits that unlock financial independence
“The money book for people who hate money books.”
Eddie Mair, broadcaster
“This book has everything you need to understand and take control of your finances. It is invaluable and utterly indispensable in these tough times.”
Lorraine Kelly CBE, TV personality and journalist, ITV Lorraine
“Unlike her name, Claer’s journalism is always clear. She’s a great champion of financial literacy. I suspect the book will be no different. More power to her elbow.”
Martin Lewis CBE, founder, Money Saving Expert
My first book is called What They Don’t Teach You About Money. I wrote it with the simple aim of helping ordinary people gain control of their finances so they can spend less time worrying about money, and more time enjoying it! Here’s why I wrote it. Lots of people share their money worries with me. After we’ve chatted these through, they frequently say: “Bloody hell, Claer… why don’t they teach us this stuff in school?” So, this book attempts to fill that gap in a very human and relatable way, with no jargon allowed.
If you’ve heard me on my Money Clinic podcast or seen me on TV or Radio, you’ll know that I explain stuff about money in a way that anyone can understand - and I have no shame in admitting that I’ve made mistakes myself in the past. We all have! But it’s never too late to learn from these, and change your habits using the seven methods I reveal in the book. It’s easy to read, and even easier to listen to as an Audio Book - and yes, it is my voice that you’ll hear reading it out (although I get progressively more hoarse towards the end).
I really hope you enjoy learning more about money with me.
